Capcom reveals plans to release two original large scale titles this year...

Capcom’s Jun Takeuchi has hinted that the company has two unannounced blockbuster titles waiting in the wings for release in 2011.

Speaking to Famitsu (via Andriasang), Takeuchi-san revealed that the two games are original titles that will “surprise” fans, and that Capcom will announce both officially “by summer” (presumably at E3 in June).

There are no firm details regarding either title at present, other a planned 2011 release. It’s possible that the games could be sequels to existing franchises.

Resident Evil 5 voice actor D. C. Douglas recently revealed that he knew a new title was in the works during an interview with Horror Game site Hell Descent.

“I know RE6 is in the works, so hopefully I’ll get a chance to audition for it…”

However, Douglas later clarified his remarks, stating that they were based on internet rumours rather than any insider knowledge.

Capcom has also hinted in the past about an iPad port of Okamiden, so it’s possible a revival of the Okami franchise could be on the cards. Of course, until Capcom make an official announcement speculation will continue to run rife. Super Street Fighter IV Turbo anyone?
