Capcom Marketing Manager, Matt Dahlgren, teases about the possibility of a new Resi game for Wii...
As our review of Resident Evil 5 comes hot off the internet presses, with Xbox 360 and PS3 owners eagerly anticipating the game's Friday the 13th release, a Capcom Marketing Manager has hinted that Nintendo's Wii may not be far off the Resi 5 scent.
Speaking to Joystiq, Capcom Associate Product Marketing Manager, Matt Dahlgren, stated that Resident Evil 5 "was made for the Xbox 360 and PS3," before adding, "That being said, Nintendo Wii fans will be very happy very soon."
Whether this is because Capcom intends to send every member of its Wii fan-base a dose of Valium, or because the publisher has another Resident Evil game planned for Nintendo's console (There's already been the Umbrella Chronicles and a Resi 4 port), is unclear at this point.
UPDATE: A post on the Capcom-Unity blog has backed up these suggestions from Matt Dahlgren. The post publicises an upcoming Resi 5 launch party in San Francisco, but sneaks in some info about new game announcements:
"To top it all off there will be new game announcements, stage shows, and Resident Evil activities all through out the night."

With the emphasis on action in Resident Evil 5, clunky controls are a bit of a problem. I'll agree they are a trademark charatceristic of the series, but if Resident Evil is headed further down a Gears of War route, then it needs to be looked at.
Personally I'd rather they kept the controls and toned down the action in place of some added significance on the puzzle count...

What a load of abject [#@!?]e, "the clunky controls can be excused" theyre supposed to be clunky genius its how the resident evil games are meant to feel. As are the menus. I for one as a die hard fan would be seriously pissed off if the controls and menus were changed. fair point about the puzzles tho, im guessing they were removed to allow for coop play.

But surely a good story is like the icing on a cake? I enjoyed RE4 more than 5, because I felt the intrigue of the series heading into new territory. By comparison RE5 felt completely generic.
