What's a further eight months when we've already been waiting this long...

Confirmation of when everybody's favourite zombie videogame would be returning (not that they're zombies anymore and Dead Rising was pretty good) today finally took place with the announcement of a March 13th 2009 release date.

Having briefly hit the headlines earlier in the year, Capcom also revealed the online co-operative, drop-in, drop-out, play that marks a first for the series.

I'll agree they are a trademark charatceristic of the series, but if Resident Evil is headed further down a Gears of War route, then it needs to be looked at. Personally I'd rather they kept the controls and toned down the action in place of some added significance on the puzzle count...

As are the menus. I for one as a die hard fan would be seriously pissed off if the controls and menus were changed. fair point about the puzzles tho, im guessing they were removed to allow for coop play.
