A few new screens but unfortunately not revealing too much...

Capcom today sent us a selection of â??newâ?? screens from Resident Evil 4, but before performing cartwheels around the room, you should probably know that nothing new is revealed within the screens, whilst some of them are purposefully similar to those released beforehand.

Capcom are staying extremely coy when it comes to specific details or revealing much more of the title, however for those who may have missed previous coverage hereâ??s a round-up of the facts known so far.

Taking place six years after the destruction of Racoon City, since when the US Government has been able to put an end to the nefarious Umbrella Corp, players take control of Leon S. Kennedy who is now a U.S agent with a top-secret mission. Tasked with discovering the Presidentâ??s abducted daughter, Leonâ??s investigations lead him to a mysterious location in Europe as he struggles to uncover the truth behind who or what is behind this new nightmare.

Strangely the game appears to have undergone a massive change in visual style since it was announced back in 2002, whilst the rumours of Leon being infected by a virus have all but disappeared.

Resident Evil 4 introduces far more flexibility to the infamous stilted controls that have become a tradition of the series; as such a more traditional third-person camera is used instead of the fixed locations featured in previous titles. However itâ??s the combat system that has seen the most improvements, with full control over targeting and the ability to pick off limbs from your opponents.

In addition the game uses context-sensitive situations, which involve tapping the A button at specific times to carry out a variety of actions â?“ be it jumping from a window or tossing ladders away.

Weâ??ll have more on Resident Evil 4 very soon.
