Nintendo announces a three city film tour to promote the UK release of Resident Evil 4...
Nintendo have today announced that they have teamed up with Sci-Fi Channel and legendary cinema advertising company Pearl & Dean (the people who â??Pah, Pahâ?) to create the â??Evil Evolvesâ? tour, which will stop at the Everyman cinema in Hampstead between the 9th and 12th March 2005, The Cottage at Leeds between March 17th and 19th 2005, and the Phoenix in Leicester between the 25th and 26th March 2005.
The tour will show classic horror films including Wicker Man, Alien, and The Exoricst as part of a month promotion for the UK release of Resident Evil 4 on Nintendo GameCube. In addition to the tour, Sci-Fi channel will be running a 4 week promotional campaign from February 27th 2005 to March 28th 2005, including a â??Teen Screamâ? weekend with the aim of marketing both the tour and the Evil Evolves micro-site at www.scifiuk.com/evilevolves. Competitions will also run in the newspapers and film specialist websites giving people the chance to win tickets to the Evil Evolves tour.
Announcing the tour, Rob Lowe, Product Manager, Home Consoles at Nintendo UK said, â??We are delighted to have a fantastic title like Capcomâ??s Resident Evil 4 exclusively on the Nintendo GameCube. This game presents us with an exciting opportunity to cater to more mature gamers, showing that Nintendo is dedicated to bringing high quality entertainment to customers of all ages. We really wanted to convey the possession theme of the new Resident Evil 4 game by creating and owning scary environments with our â??Evil Evolvesâ? activity.â?
Resident Evil 4 is to be released in the UK on March 18th 2005, and you can read TVGâ??s review here.
