Kill Bill inspired first-person-shooter confirmed for the Revolution, but unlikely to feature blood...

Details of Ubisoft's first title for the Nintendo Revolution may have been leaked earlier in the week; however that hasn't deterred the French publisher from today officially unveiling the title.

Confirming that the title is in development exclusively for the Revolution, Red Steel is set in modern-day Japan and finds players having to master both the ancient art of the katana and the sophisticated technology of modern firearms, in what a Ubisoft representative recently described to TVG as being similar to the likes of Quentin Tarintino's "Kill Bill" series.

Despite the influences and the apparent change in opinion towards more mature content by Nintendo, TVG has learnt that the game will not feature gratuitous violence and is unlikely to feature blood as a result.

"Nintendo is excited to have Ubisoft bring Red Steel to the Revolution launch lineup," said Reggie Fils-Aime, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Nintendo of America. "Ubisoft makes some of the most innovative and critically acclaimed games in the industry and from what we have seen from Red Steel it is going to be a standout exclusive title on the Revolution."

"We're honored to announce this exciting new franchise and we're confident that Red Steel will be the must-have title for the Revolution when it launches," said Serge Hascoet, chief creative officer at Ubisoft. "We have been working closely with Nintendo to take full advantage of the innovative controller to create a thrilling experience that can only exist on the Revolution."

Look out for more on Red Steel soon...
