After producing the music to the BAFTA Game of the Year, Tom Salta is confirmed as composer for the sword-wielding Wii title...
Ubisoft has today confirmed that the award-winning Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter composer Tom Salta has been brought on board to score the forthcoming Wii launch title, Red Steel.
Having scored the 2006 BAFTA Game of the Year and collected a gong for the same game at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards, Salta was commissioned to compose the soundtrack to Red Steel, which enabled him to use a range of Japanese instruments including Koto, Shamisen, Shakuhachi and Taiko.
"Tom Salta has found the perfect balance between Japanese traditional music, classic Hollywood score and various modern styles," said Manu Bachet, Music Supervisor for Red Steel. "He has composed the most exciting soundtrack I've ever worked on at Ubisoft."
It won't be long before we can all enjoy the sonic seasoning that Salta has created - Red Steel will be released on Wii from December 8th.
We'll have more news shortly...
