Rockstar’s Western becomes the publisher’s latest big hit, but it seems we’ll have to wait for LA Noire and Max Payne 3...
Showing two sides of the coin at yesterday’s financial reports, Take-Two has announced that Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption has shipped 6.9 million copies worldwide since its release back in May.
The flip side comes from the confirmation that Team Bondi’s illusive LA Noire has once again been delayed, with a first half of 2011 release date now pencilled in to the Take-Two calendar. Although given the title’s past we wouldn’t be too surprised if this slipped again.
No mention was made of Rockstar Games’ Max Payne 3, although this doesn’t come as too much of a surprise given the fact that Take-Two failed to provide even a rough timeline the last time it was delayed. We speculated earlier in the year that such a blackout could be suggestive that Rockstar Vancouver is taking the game back to the drawing board following the tepid response to Max’s new look and sun-bleached setting.
Equally no mention was made of Rockstar North’s PS3 exclusive, Agent, suggesting there’s going to be a considerable wait for that one to eventually appear.
