The wait has been worth it as PC fans get a host of improvements and extras...

Ubisoft today confirmed the long-overdue release of Rainbow Six: Lockdown for the PC will happen in early 2006. Thankfully the time has been well spent with a whole host of improvements and new features exclusive to the PC, such as improved enemy AI which require quick and intense decision making and hostages that must be escorted throughout the level.

The game also sports a wealth of new multiplayer features such as a new â??Class Styleâ? granting extra customisation; a multiplayer reward system; new free-for-all game type; the return of three classic maps (747, Mint and Bunkers) and a re-vamped Rivalry mode pitting the Rainbow vs Missionaries.

Players will also be able to get their hands on new equipment including Lock Fusers, Laser Trip Mines, Virus Grenades and C4 explosives. 20 new weapons have also been included making for a total of 42, six of which have never been seen before in a Rainbow Six title.
