Ubisoft sends word of what to expect from the multiplayer modes within Rainbow Six: Lockdown…
Having recently unveiled the new-look interface featured within Rainbow Six: Lockdown, Ubisoft today delivered the first conclusive details on how the multiplayer is shaping up.
Having built the series foundations upon the multiplayer components, the teams behind the latest title hope to deliver an experience that maintains its reputation, with the concept underlying being that of â??taking the best and making it better.â?
Rainbow Six: Lockdown features a number of features new to the Rainbow Six series, such as being able to assume the role as a mercenary in all adversarial modes alongside the traditional Rainbow Six operatives. Another new introduction is what the team are dubbing as â??Dynamic Mapsâ?; essentially allowing players to effect the maps by the use of machinery such as cranes and automatic doors, which can then open up new areas and be used to your tactical advantage.
The various modes featured within the game include:
- Co-Operative: Mission â?“ Play co-operatively through single-player missions as Team Rainbow (PS2/Xbox).
- Co-Operative: Terrorist Hunt â?“ Play co-operatively through the campaign (PS2/Xbox).
- Team Adversarial â?“ DeathMatch between Team Rainbow and the Mercenaries; the team with the most kills when time expires wins (PS2).
- Team Survival â?“ DeathMatch between Team Rainbow and the Mercenaries; the team with the most kills when time expires wins (Xbox).
- Team Retrieval - Play as either Team Rainbow or the Mercenaries. The team to retrieve the most canister objects within the time limit wins (PS2/Xbox).
- Total Conquest - The team to capture and hold all three satellite transmitters for a short duration wins the round (Xbox).
- Team Sharpshooter - Team deathmatch with respawn. The team with the most kills when the time expires wins (Xbox).
Ubiâ??s pledge to differentiate the Playstation2 and Xbox versions continues, with a Team Rivalry mode featuring exclusively on the PS2; whilst Xbox fans have Persistent Elite Creation to look forwards to, which allows gamers to build a character and develop them through a career.
Weâ??ll have more information soon.
