Variety reports suggests John Woo working on a third videogame adaptation, this time around it’s the turn of Rainbow Six…

Variety is today reporting that John Woo has snapped up a deal alongside Paramount to bring Ubisoftâ??s Tom Clancyâ??s Rainbow Six franchise to the silver screen.

If true this marks the third videogame franchise that Woo will be working on, having previously secured the rights to create a film based on Nintendoâ??s Metroid series and entering into negotiations with Universal Pictures to direct an adaptation of Spy Hunter from Midway.

The article suggests that the adaptation of the original book, however this was created alongside the original 1998 PC title and features the same two main characters, John Clark and Domingo â??Dingâ?? Chavez that have both starred in a variety of sequels and movies such as Clear and Present Danger and The Sum of All Fears.

Weâ??ll have more information soon.
