Race Driver One is given its final title as Codemasters reveal more details of its 2008 racer...

Announced earlier in the year as 'Race Driver One', Codemasters has today confirmed the final title together with additional details of the upcoming next-gen racer.

Due out in mid-2008 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, Race Driver: GRID will take players on a globetrotting career across three continents, with the build up to race day helping to drive the atmosphere forward right through to the chequered flag. Races in Europe will take place at some of the greatest tracks on this side of the Atlantic, with near-illegal Drift racing taking centre stage in Japan, and high performance street-racing across various US cities.

"Race Driver: GRID is all about the race." said Gavin Raeburn, Executive Producer at Codemasters Studios. "The next iteration of our DiRT engine combined with a decade of experience in developing driving games enables us to put the player at the centre of the action like never before. Damage, packed grids, intelligent opposition and unprecedented race day atmosphere will combine to deliver an experience like no other.

Says Ralph Fulton, Chief Game Designer. "GRID focuses on everything that happens between the start grid and the chequered flag: the drama, the rivalries, the aggression and the crashes. This is not a game about collecting cars or spending all of your time in the front-end tuning suspension settings or designing liveries. We want to make racing exciting again."

Race Driver: GRID will be the first instalment in the series to drop the 'TOCA' moniker since the series began several years ago, and follows Colin McRae: DiRT onto the next-gen stage.

best game iv played in ages. tip is to star easy n dont be such a big head n put it on hard to start off with . quick starts come in handy cuz the first corner is a pain to get round with all cars tryin to fight for it and the cars do spin and damage easy 10/10
