Codies Confirms New Grid And Operation Flashpoint Titles News

Codemasters' Vice-President of Studios, Gavin Cheshire has confirmed that the publishers' Southam-based studio is currently hard at work on sequels to 2008's Race Driver: Grid and last year's Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.

Speaking to Develop, Cheshire revealed, "In Southam it's full steam ahead with the next iteration in our Flashpoint series, as well as the next Dirt and Grid. It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out."

While the publisher has previously mentioned a third Colin McRae: Dirt title, this is the first time its dropped talk of Race Driver: Grid and Operation Flashpoint sequels. Presumably none of the games will be released this year (as we'd expect official PR announcements to have been handed out by now if that was the case) but there's a good chance one or two of them will drop next year. We'll keep our ears pricked for more info.

Codemasters' currently has F1 2010 pinned down for release later this year, while Bodycount is due to land early in 2011.
