Two years after console editions were first announced, SimBin and Atari confirm an autumn release for the Xbox 360 exclusive, RACE Pro...

Nearly two years after it was first announced, the console edition of PC racing sim RACE, is finally doing the warm up lap ahead of its launch this autumn.

Exclusive to Xbox 360, RACE Pro will put gamers behind the wheel of dozens of cars from different race classes, including WTCC, Formula BMW, and Formula 3000, as they race around over a dozen real world tracks such as Laguna Seca and Road America.

Publishing responsibilities rest with Atari, which has helped to drive SimBin's library of hardcore racing sims on the PC in recent years.

"With five years worth of experience under SimBin's belt, RACE Pro ensures a unique racing experience unlike anything seen before on console," said Cyril Voiron, VP Brand Management, Worldwide Publishing, Atari. "Nothing gets you closer to the ultimate racing sensation than RACE Pro and Atari is proud to add this product to our holiday line-up."

"Having personally taken the leap from 20 years of championship racing to racing simulation development, I am really excited for SimBin to be taking its own leap from PC to Xbox 360," said Henrik Roos, CEO, SimBin Studios AB. "We are proud to be taking this significant move with Atari, our trusted partner since our very first game."

Beyond the extensive racing campaigns, players will also get a taste of true RACE Pro competition, thanks to the game's Xbox Live support for up to twelve gamers, and will include a new gametype called 'Hot Seat'. Certainly a unique mode for a racing title, Hot Seat gives players a limited time to race before passing the Xbox 360 controller to the person next to them, suggesting that the experience will be like a virtual Le Mans.

OMG Cant wait! GRID was absolute CRAP for racing only redeemed by its drift component. Finally a Rfactor style game coming to Consoles! To suceed the game will have to have regular cars and track updates. If nots its just going to be another 2 year old game port thats going to gather dust.
