Atari sends word that a title update is finally available for SimBin's Xbox 360 racer...

It's taken a little while to appear, however, Race Pro fans may soon get the online experience they were originally hoping for with the release of the first Title Update via Xbox Live.

The update addresses "numerous issues" and allegedly "greatly enhances primarily the multiplayer experience and also the single player game".

The list of improvements includes:

MULTIPLAYER UPDATE
- Fixed bug causing the game to crash when 12 players have joined and left a multiplayer game
- Disallow connections to host if they are not waiting for players.
- Fixed the "fast forward" / speed bug currently generating some unrealistic race times in leaderboards.
- Fixed problem with lap times being reported to the wrong leaderboard when moving on to the next track in multiplayer.
- Fixed problem of a player joining during session activation causing the client to get stuck in the loading screen.
- Fixed issue when creating a session with downloaded car and inviting a player that doesn't have the car
- Fixed name of tracks on servers list when players do several sessions in a row
- Fixed incorrect race length value seen in game list screen
- Fixed transparent car that appears after un-pausing in multiplayer qualification
- Fixed the incorrect message that appears when attempting to access multiplayer without a gamer profile signed-in and if selecting Multiplayer with an offline gamer profile
- Set default host option of qualification to NO in multiplayer for players that have never hosted a game in Race Pro before
- New messages: Display some session info in-game so players can recognize where in the game they are
- New messages: Add a specific multiplayer loading tip showing 50% of loading time in player match only.

GENERAL UPDATE
- Fixed performance drop while driving over curb
- Improved deformation of cars
- Fixed hot seat start position problems
- Removed dangerous driving dialogues when entering loading screen
- Fixed crash when the player tries to enter the end pit driving backwards and wants to restart the race after the losing message
- Fixed some localization bugs
- Locked F3000 car #12 and unlocked the Corvette C5R since there is no contract for it in Career mode
- Fixed validation for replay files to allow replay files saved between year 2000 and 2099
- Fixed sound bug making Doppler effect of other cars sound corrupt in swing cam
- Fixed force feedback detection for wheels and slightly improved strength of force
- Adjusted the Seat Leon Extreme Tryout time
- Fixed sound bug making the rev sounds on some cars not transition smoothly (including Mini Cooper and BMW M3 GTR)
- Fixed sound bug with the force calculation of picking the correct collision sound

Phew...

to rate this game 5/10 is truely incredible. I have just purchased an Xbox 360 just to play this as nothing comes close on my PS3. The cars understeer because of a) driving aids b) They are set up to be "easy" to drive. You can adjust the handling. Take the aids off, play it again and see if you can post a half respectable lap time on against the pro AI, once you do rewrite the review.

Too many players online, thats a joke. If you bothered to test the game before its released most of these issues would have been resolved - SIMBIN are a set of cheap skate idiots who should be forced to refund our money.
If you check the leaderboards for rankings you can see there are less than 12,000 entries total. Most other top online games have 10 times this number online at any one time.
Other issues are that you can't setup tournaments online, you can't unlock all the cars, AI is [#@!?]e as they can spin you out but you can't do it to them.
The fake times on the tracks are caused by timing sectors being in the wrong place, if you go off track after sector 2 it thinks you have just completed sector 3.
People quit online as they don't know whats going on, if you have a 'loading' screen then the NOOBS would know to wait.
I've played this from the release date and the game is good but the package is crap, get it right or piss off back to PC games.

This is a terrible shame, given SimBin's PC heritage - I've seen quite a few harsh reviews like this.

But then, if you're entering the arena with the likes of Forza, GT and GRID then you have to be really good to get noticed.

lol this games so popular on xbox live only 1 person on my friends list plays it and the rest are split between cod waw or burnout paradise and a handfull of other titles.

sory but it does look rather odd that not only this game but many others are suffering poor connections, lag long ping times ect.

sorry but this is the last time i give m$ any of my money to play online especially after 3 years of terrable service both with live and a constant berrage of red ringing 360s not just from my self but at least 5 of my friends a week are telling my there 360's have gone back to m$ to be fixed after red ringing (so much for supposedly fixing the problem NOT)

Yeah! Thanks, post no. 15. I might add that the Producer of the next Need For Speed game is a girl (although I think she might prefer woman), and somebody who knows a hell of a lot about racing sims and real-life motor racing.

Dude...where to start...

Firstly, Gwynne is a bloke's name and originates from Wales.  Seconly, even if the reviewer was a girl, why wouldn't it be ok for them to review a racing sim?

So previously Anon, it seems that not only are you wrong, you're also horribly sexist and misogynist.

Take a bow...fool.

Im glad to see you gave it a 50 out of 100, I know not to read anymore of your reviews.

They shouldn't let a girl review a racing sim.

Its very realistic, and understeer?  Idiot, your driving with aids on.

Stick a douche in, and leave the sim racers for guys.

Its like a Guy reviewing Barbie, the game.

Driving a caterham for the first time in [#@!?]pit view is incredible. The sense of speed and exhilarating feeling is unsurpassed by any other title. To the poster below, I would agree this is the best 'sim' racer on consoles for sure.
