By Chris Leyton on 12/05/2004 Puyo Puyo Pop and mysterious Project S heading to the PSP...Having confirmed a couple of titles for the Nintendo DS, SEGA additionally pledged their support for the Sony PSP, with the confirmation of two titles currently in development.
First up is a version of Puyo Pop Fever, a popular puzzle farnchise from SEGA and one that makes perfect sense as a first title from the Japanese publisher, if unlikely to set the world alight.
However far more intriguing is the existence of a title named Project S, however sadly nothing yet is known about the title, aside from the rumour that it will be another Sonic title.
Yuji Naka, SEGAâs executive managing director and general manager of Development Head Office commented, âI am excited to announce SEGAâs initial software plans for the new PSP platform which offers truly high performance and efficient graphics display and incredible sound control. Given its technical strengths, SEGA regards PSP as a handheld videogame system with great potential. We are presently developing Puyo Puyo Pop and Project S, and we will propose a new style of gaming and entertainment that maximises the features unique to PSP, such as network communication battle via wireless LAN and the âface-to-faceâ system that utilises the 16:9 widescreen TFT LCD. Please look forward to future SEGA titles.â
Sadly it doesnât appear as either PSP title will make it on to the show floor, however if we discover anything weâll be sure to let you know.
