Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg explains why Milo & Kate didn't appear at this year's E3...

Microsoft's Director of Product Management, Aaron Greenberg has stated unequivocally that Lionhead's Milo and Kate project that emerged at E3 last year was merely a tech demo and Microsoft has no plans to bring the game to market.

When ABC's Good Game asked Greenberg why Milo and Kate wasn't at this year's E3, he responded: "Milo is safe and sound - he's back in England. No, the Lionhead project was something that Lionhead Studios developed in their lab. Last year we unveiled the Project Natal technology; we showed a bunch of technology demos as part of that, and obviously that's a tech demo and technology that continues to exist, but right now it's not a game that we're planning to bring to market."

This is despite the fact that Microsoft's Peter Molyneux reportedly confirmed last month that he'll be revealing more on the title at a TEDGlobal talk in Oxford next month. At E3 '09, Molyneux also stated that Milo and Kate had effectively been rolled under Lionhead's mysterious Project DImitri, which had been under development at Lionhead for a number of years.

We'll shoot off an e-mail to Lionhead for some clarity on this entirely perplexing and contradictory turn of events and update this article should we receive a reply...

Update: Aaron Greenberg now appears to have made a U-turn on his initial comments by Tweeting, "Project Milo absolutely continues in development at Lionhead Studios. It is just not a product we plan to bring to market this holiday. The team at Lionhead has always been a center of innovation and will continue to deliver against that charter."

So, Milo and Kate lives after all?

Update 2:
It lives!

Sony better beware of E3,MS are very crafty for announcing games at the last second, unlike Sony which announce their entire lineup years before release
