Following in the footsteps of Kameo: Elements of Power and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Bizarre Creations' Project Gotham Racing 3 will get its first set of downloadable content later in April in the form of the so-called 'Speed Pack'.

Consisting of a dozen new cars including the Aston Martin AMV8 Vantage and Chevrolet Corvette Z06, the pack is set to cost gamers 400 Microsoft Points to download on its release on April 17th. In addition to the Speed Pack, a free car will also become available together with access to the forthcoming PGR3 Tournament.

News of the downloadable content comes just days after Bethesda launched the Horse Armour pack for Oblivion, which seems to have caused a stir in circle quarters because of its premium (i.e. not free) status. It seems that the age of micro-transactions really is emerging.
