Two new modes and the same old mantra of 'new and improved' headlines this year's PES feature list...

As the football season begins in earnest, Konami has today revealed two new modes (for the Western market at least) for Pro Evolution Soccer 2009, which is due to arrive this autumn for most platforms...and 2009 on Wii.

Alongside the usual barrage of promises that physics and animations, have all been improved - the LED billboards immediately spring to mind - the publisher has also lifted the lid on 'Become a Legend', a new mode for PES gamers in the West.

Already available to Winning Eleven gamers in Japan, the mode gives players the chance to play as one midfielder or striker, and take them through the ranks to worldwide glory. The second mode, a variant of Become a Legend simply called 'Legends' takes the path to international footballing stardom online.

"It is an honour to know that our game is enjoyed by so many people from different backgrounds," said Takatsuka of the new additions. "From top professional players, to football enthusiasts and kids who just want a kickabout in the streets, its appeal is widening all the time. The new Become a Legend and Legends Modes are designed to convey the pressure and pace a real pro experiences, with players working as part of a strong side and working to prove their merit as a player. I feel great and motivated when people enjoy our games, and feel the new modes will open up new ways to enjoy PES."

"We have pulled out all the stops to make PES 2009 a landmark in footballing games," commented Jon Murphy, PES Project Leader for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. "From the most basic controls, through to the wide-ranging additions to game modes such as 'Become a Legend', all-new visuals, sound, and the Edit mode, Seabass and his team have strived to cram as much as they can into the new game. And with more online announcements to follow, there is every reason to believe that PES 2009 is the football game everyone has been waiting for."

PES 2009 for PS2 is the biggest let down for a game, it is just awful with so many things wrong with it! I will never buy another PES game again! And I have bought all of the games when they came out including PES manager.

Fifa 09 sucks in front of PES 2009.

Far better graphics and reality

Fifa 09 is frugal. Its for kids below 15.

Guys, go for PES 2009. it is best
