Konami Kicks Off PES 08 News

By Jon Wilcox on 18/06/2007

PS3 gamers to get their first dose of next-gen Pro Evo as Konami announce the seventh instalment in the series...

Konami has today confirmed an autumn release period for Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 for Xbox 360, PlayStation3, PlayStation2, PSP, Nintendo DS, and PC.

As well as marking the series' debut on PlayStation3, PES 2008 will also feature several additional features, not least a new 'Teamvision' AI system that adapts to the style of players, enabling the game to create counter-attacks and defensive plays over time. Further balancing improvements have also been made, along with a more refined set-piece system.

One of the criticisms of last year's effort ('exclusive on Xbox 360') was the lack of an Edit mode, an element that had been a staple of the PES series. Konami has now confirmed that the mode will be returning in PES 2008, along with additional visual improvements (though the game remains routed with a more stylistic visual approach compared to rival, FIFA).

"We have taken a long hard look at what has made the Pro Evolution Soccer series so popular, and where we want to take it next," commented Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka, creator of the series and Producer of PES 2008. "With the new Teamvision AI system, we truly believe that we have elevated the game to a new level. The movement of players off the ball, coupled with the total control given to the player, creates the closest simulation of real football to date. We really hope everyone enjoys our evolution. I promise it will be worth the wait."

i read somewhere that you can only register the game once. So if you've bought it second hand you have to try and get the original registration info of the person you got it off
