More on this gameDays after 'Prince of Persia Prodigy' is trademarked, Ubi has a bold announcement to make...
Ubisoft has today confirmed that a new Prince of Persia is in development, with a release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 before the end of 2008. A Nintendo DS edition of the game is also expected around the same time.
The announcement comes just days after 'Prince of Persia Prodigy' was trademarked at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, so today's statement isn't much of a surprise. The fact that the Sands of Time trilogy, the previous incarnation of the franchise, which appeared on the last generation of consoles, sold over ten million units in total, also added to expectations of a new chapter.
In development at Ubisoft's Montreal studio (naturally), very little is known about the game, other than it will apparently feature a "new breed of gameplay...poised to rejuvenate the action-adventure genre", together with an intriguingly sounding "brand-new illustrative art style."
A teaser website for the game has also been launched (and we mean a teaser), which already lists the game as receiving a 12+ age certificate from PEGI. The source code for the website also mentions Ubisoft's Parisian UbiDays 2008 event, due at the end of May, together with a few interesting keywords: decay and corruption.
In other words, expect more details in just a few weeks time.

it is definitely a beautiful game! it may not be a game for hardcore gamers but the mixture of miyazaki, tales of 1001 nights and the smashing graphics make the game a spectacular view for the eye and also a magical adventure.

Yeah, personally I find it a little hit-and-miss. In terms of style I'm not dismissing it, but technically I think it's a little loose and rough around the dges in part. Equally, check the animaiton there's nothing particualrly special over Sands of Time - excluding the nice animaiton whent he Prince and Elika trade places on the beam, I quite like that!

How can you give a 83% to the graphics, while they are critically acclaimed? What did you expect more?!
