Prince Of Persia Next-Gen Sighted News

By Chris Leyton on 02/03/2007

A switch to platform gameplay for the Prince's next-gen debut...

Prince of Persia fans fearing that Ubisoft Montreal's Assassins Creed signalled an end for the Prince's adventures with the concluding chapter in the trilogy can prepare for some more sabre slashing action, with reports of a next-gen title in the series currently underway.

Hinted at in the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine, the Prince's return allegedly signifies a switch to platform gameplay as opposed to the emphasis on action/combat in the Sands of Time trilogy. Early information also suggests that the Prince will be equipped with a unique gauntlet, which the player will be able to customise with new abilities throughout the game.

Expect official confirmation of the title from Ubisoft soon.

Well it won't be that long before you do, can't imagine the end credits will take you too long to discover.

it is definitely a beautiful game! it may not be a game for hardcore gamers but the mixture of miyazaki, tales of 1001 nights and the smashing graphics make the game a spectacular view for the eye and also a magical adventure.

Yeah, personally I find it a little hit-and-miss.  In terms of style I'm not dismissing it, but technically I think it's a little loose and rough around the dges in part.  Equally, check the animaiton there's nothing particualrly special over Sands of Time - excluding the nice animaiton whent he Prince and Elika trade places on the beam, I quite like that!

How can you give a 83% to the graphics, while they are critically acclaimed? What did you expect more?!
