Ubisoft send word on the two Xbox Live! modes set to feature in the forthcoming sequel...

Ubisoft today delivered details on what the Xbox Live! mode will entail in the eagerly awaited return of the Prince, in Prince of Persia 2: Warrior Within.

Naturally the standard offering of Xbox Live! aware, scoreboards and downloadable content has been promised, however Xbox Live! owners will be able to engage in two exciting modes exclusive to the format.

Time Attack Mode challenges players to race across the environment in the quickest possible time. Depending on the size of the map, the environment will be divided into several parts with a series of checkpoints; naturally passing one of these will give you a time boost, whilst you can make use of the Sands of Time to affect the clock. The player’s score is decided by a variety of factors, and if it’s high enough will be displayed on the official ranking Xbox Live! leaderboards.

In addition the game features an Arena Survival Mode, pitting players against wave after wave of enemies in specially designed arenas. The mode is split into different rounds, with players having to defeat a certain number of enemies before the timer runs out; without any means to increase your health, you must defeat legion after legion of increasingly difficult enemies. As with the Time Attack Mode, those who score highly will be rewarded with their GamerTag on the official scoreboard.

Ubisoft promise a selection of new maps for the two multiplayer modes via Xbox Live!, with two maps currently being readied for download shortly after the game is released.
