Development on the next-generation zombie title is stopped as Blitz confirms work on other projects...
First unveiled at the sole EGN exhibition in August 2004, Leamington Spa-based Blitz Games has today confirmed that it's stopped work on the next-generation title, Possession.
The game, which was last seen at E3 2005, had been pencilled in for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation3, and PC at some point during the second quarter of this year, but news on the zombie title has been non-existent for nearly eighteen months. It was known that Blitz were working hard on establishing a publishing deal, but with today's news, it does seem that negotiations with a third-party had broken down.
In a statement to PSU, Blitz representatives said: "Unfortunately we cannot give out any further information on Possession at the moment other than production has been halted for the time being. Blitz are busy with other titles at the moment but we will definitely make it quite clear to the public and to magazines, websites etc if and when we pick Possession back up."
'If and when' doesn't exactly stir much confidence that Possession and its Zombie Enslaver will see the light of day, which is a shame given Blitz' attempts to push several interesting gameplay ideas in the title.

If you go on volatile games, you will notice possession has now been taken off the website, yet no official cancelation of the game, and a top secret project for next gen consoles is under way.

I'm not sure, but I think it is postponed. If it is then it sucks but it may even be dropped, which I would be pissed about...
