Valve announces a range of PS3-Exclusive features for its hotly anticipated sequel, Portal 2...
When the PS3 version of Portal 2 is released this April, it'll include exclusive features such as cross-platform play, cloud-based storage of saved games, and cross-platform chat, Valve has announced.
It's all part of an agreement between Sony and Valve, which will see the company's Steamworks suite land on PSN. Consequently, Portal 2 is the first PS3 title that Valve has developed in-house and will be (as Gabe Newell stated in his famous E3 2010 climb-down after years of ambivalence towards the PS3 platform), "the best console version of the game".
PS3 users will be able to play Portal 2's co-op with other PC/Mac players on Steam by utilising the cross-platform play feature, access saved games from multiple locations using the Steam Cloud service, and initiate cross-platform chat with other PC/Mac Portal 2 players as well.
As a further bonus, gamers who purchase the PS3 version of Portal 2 will then be able to download a free Steam Play copy of Portal 2 for PC/Mac when they link their PSN and Steam accounts.
"We made a promise to gamers at E3 that Portal 2 for the PlayStation 3 would be the best console version of the product," said Gabe Newell, Co-founder and President of Valve. "Working together with Sony we have identified a set of features we believe are very compelling to gamers. We hope to expand upon the foundation being laid in Portal 2 with more Steam features and functionality in DLC and future content releases."

It is just as fantastic as the 10/10 suggests, worth the wait! Quite a lot has gone into the storyline too, and it entire game including puzzles/levels are a fair bit bigger but it doesn't loose anything from it.

It's looking absolutely amazing at this stage. The only concern I have is the expansion and the demands this places on the design team.
The original Portal was condensed, small rooms where the puzzles were tightly woven. Portal 2 appears to be on a much larger, grander level and I just hope the puzzles and their solutions don't loose the focus.
Don't want to be walking around aimlessly too much - even if Steven Merchant is providing the comedy in the background.
