Chet Faliszek spills the beans...

Valve writer Chet Faliszek has revealed that Portal 2 will have “complete PlayStation Move support” on PS3.

Speaking to the German PlayStation Blog (translated by Eurogamer), Faliszek acknowledged that previous Valve PS3 products hadn’t been quite up to scratch.

"We made a mistake back then and gave the Orange Box console versions to an external team. They did a good job, but didn't quite achieve the same quality level that we have at Valve. Now everything happens in-house, we created a special console department just for that."

"So the move to the PlayStation 3 comes late - we're sorry for that. As a small compensation we have PS3-exclusive cloud saving, a free code for PC and complete PlayStation Move support.”

"Look at it as a compensation for Left 4 Dead."

Faliszek revealed that Move funcionality “isn’t fully integrated yet”, but with both Move and Steamworks support planned for the PS3 version of Portal 2, it seems that Gabe Newell’s promise that it will be “the best console version of the game” wasn't far off.

TVG went hands-on with Portal 2's co-op and interviewed Mr. Faliszek at an event last month.

Update: Valve has now clarified these reports to TVG, revealing in a statement that, "Unfortunately this quote was 'lost in translation' -- Portal 2 does not include support for Sony's motion controller."

It is just as fantastic as the 10/10 suggests, worth the wait! Quite a lot has gone into the storyline too, and it entire game including puzzles/levels are a fair bit bigger but it doesn't loose anything from it.

It's looking absolutely amazing at this stage.  The only concern I have is the expansion and the demands this places on the design team.

The original Portal was condensed, small rooms where the puzzles were tightly woven.  Portal 2 appears to be on a much larger, grander level and I just hope the puzzles and their solutions don't loose the focus.

Don't want to be walking around aimlessly too much - even if Steven Merchant is providing the comedy in the background.
