Nintendo confirms a mid-May launch for the latest iteration of Pokemon in the UK...
Nintendo has today confirmed a May 22nd UK release date for Pokemon Platinum. The Nintendo DS game, which has already shipped nearly 2.5 million units in Japan since it launched there last September, features a massive selection of new Pokemon to collect and duel with, along with new gameplay options.
Set in the Pokemon world's Sinnoh region, Platinum includes a new 'Distortion World' that's bizarrely 'governed by neither time nor space', offering a new gameplay mode along the way. Legendary Pokemon (including Dialga and Palkia) will be available to collect too, with Diamond and Pearl owners also free to transfer the Shaymin Pokemon to Platinum, unlocking its new Sky Shaymin forme.
Pokemon Platinum is also Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection enabled, so that up to 20 players will be able to come together in the 'Wi-Fi Plaza' to play games and swap Pokemon, along with mini-games to complete.
