Friend codes and voice support featured in Pokemon's DS debut...
It may be a "secret" that we've known about for over a year, however, today Nintendo has officially confirmed that the forthcoming debut of Pokemon on the DS will feature support for the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service.
Accessed on the second basement floor of The Pokemon Center, both Pokemon Pearl and Diamond allow up to 32 Friend codes to be stored, presumably in a similar manner to Animal Crossing: Wild World. Competing in online duels, Pokemon fans can make use of the DS microphone to communicate, along with trading different Pokemon across the service.
Pokemon Pearl and Pokemon Diamond will both arrive in Japan on September 28th, with a release across Europe planned for 2007.
