Coro Coro Comic reveals the first details on the next title in Nintendo's Pokemon series...

We previously brought you the first details on Pokemon Emerald earlier in the month, as today Coro Coro Comic finally confirmed the existence of the title alongside the first information.

The game is scheduled for release in Japan on September 16th and carries on in the same vein as Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire, whilst the game will be bundled with the wireless adaptor to allow fans to exchange data and battle without cables.

Fans can expect new designs for the two main characters, alongside the return of Team Aqua/Magma as they struggle against Groudon and Kyogre.

Pokemon Emerald will feature 7 new tournaments, such as ‘Battle Frontier’ which takes place in a giant amusement park. Others include ‘Battle Dome’ which challenges players to fight through the entire tournament with just 3 Pokemon, whilst ‘Battle Tube’ requires players to fight through a labyrinth and choose the correct exits.

Other additions include the use of unique animations when Pokemon are sent into battle, whilst we’re led to believe that trainers will occasionally jump into battles when you’re not expecting them to.

Pokemon Emerald is scheduled to make its debut at the forthcoming Pokemon Fiesta 2004, held on July 16th in Japan.
