Sony could probably do with selling a few more PS3's if the company's financial position is anything to go by. However the Japanese giant's fortunes could be changed with the help of a little robot if a recent patent is anything to go by.
It seems Sony Computer Entertainment is looking towards robots to sell more PS3's, with the patent certainly representing one of the strangest one's we've seen. Details are a little thin on the ground, although specifics on the actual robot suggest it would include a camera to recognise its surroundings and a microphone to determine orders issued and react to sound.
Additional details allude to playing a traditional Japanese game of 'Daruma-san ga koronda', known as 'Red Light, Green Light' in the West (we knew it as 'What's the time Mr. Wolf'), with the robot.
Or perhaps a game of golf with the robot acting as your caddie.
Certainly Sony has been keen to push the PS3 as being more than just video games; perhaps, now's the time for cleaner robots to finally stamp their mark on 21st century life.

but people have come to accept the rrod its been happening for years now unlike the yellow light of death thats not because of unreliable parts but due to a firmware update, is this an indication that sony had tried to overclock the ps3 and may have had a stable overclock but releasing a firmware update with the overclock included may have caused the trapped gas in the circuit boards.

Actually we can still complain about the RROD because the xbox has a 54 percent failure rate compared to the PS3's 14.7

It's really a low failure rate when compared to Xbox's 45% failure rate in the earlier generations of systems.
A .5% deficiant rate is quite low and seems an acceptable rate for any product. It seems that if Sony can compensate these very few failures with replacement systems ect. then this would be a very small problem.
