A recent Sony patent points to motion sensing technology that detects a variety of everyday, household objects...
Seemingly not content with the LED wand it unveiled at this year's E3, Sony now appears to be ramping-up patents for motion sensing PlayStation Eye tech that can detect a variety of common, household objects.
According to the documentation posted on Siliconera, players will be able to interact with the PlayStation Eye in ways that "include items such as coffee mugs, drinking glasses, books, bottles, etc."
Diagrams in the patent show a large, U-shaped object being used to play baseball, tennis, driving, golf, bowling, snooker/pool, and lightsaber games. Surely it's only a matter of time before you'll be playing Eye Pet with an actual cat...

what exactly as the pc as a games machine got to do with which is the the best console and which is the the more powerfull. everybody knows a games console who ever makes it will not and never will be able to keep up with the tech of the latest pc as they are not designed to be upgraded. Gameing on the pc is in decline anyway from what it was a few years ago most games come out first on the consoles as that is where the money is. and what sort of pc would you buy for the cost of a console thats say around £250 a low end machine and what are you looking at for a high end gameing pc around or over a £1000. and if this onlive lives up to all the hype who will need a state of the art pc or console for playing games on any old pc will do, the only thing with onlive is how much is it going to cost.

My Xbox has been running fine ever since i bought it. I also heard they fixed the rrod problem. that said, for some reason microsoft didn't cancel my xbox live gold account and I have had free online privilages for almost a year and a half. YAY!!!! GO XBOX

i think its even funnier when peple say they had the rrod 4 or 5 times not because it sounds stupid but because they probably diddnt read the instruction manual for the console and put it in an enclosed environment, my friend had the same problem and sold his 360 for a ps3 only when i found out where he put the 360 was when we knew why it was red ringing all the time (in a video cabenet with the doors closed), if people are dumb enough to put a 360 in an environment thats restriction the air flow to the console then you going to get the rrod weather you like it or not.
ive only had 2 360's since launch and i read the manual probably why i like many others have never had the rrod, i had the core unit for 3 years and traded it for an arcade (with hdmi port) and so far no problems. on top of that ive got a 40gb ps3 and when i say on top i mean on top of my 360 sits my ps3, i enjoy playing on my ps3 as much as i do playing my 360 but seriously drop the fanboy crap its so old now it's pathetic, im pretty sure the ps3 if treated like the 360's that everyone that had the rrod with did the same and put there ps3's in the same place as where they had there 360's would possably suffer overheating problems too (and yes the ps3 does generate a lot of heat too) it just seams that so many people just need to take a bit more time setting up there consoles instead of rushing it, read the manual first then youll gain a much better gaming experience.

I think it's funny that fanbois flame to high hell over this. I have owned all 3 consoles and was an avid 360 fanboi. But after I had sent my console in for the 5th time in 12 months I gave up. In the last year I physically had my xbox in my home for only 6 months out fo a full year and missed the release date for many of my most anticipapted titles. I hadn't touched my wii in almost a year, it just sat there and collected dust.
Yesterday I traded in my 360 and wii and bought a PS3. Hopefully I get some enjoyment out of this thing. I felt like such a traitor, but the grass has been looking greener on the PS3 side of the fence since my first RROD, my second RROD, my disk drive failure, my third RROD, and even when it wouldn't power on after only having it back from Microsoft for two whole days...
This grass is nice so far. It treats me well..

microsoft was producing windows 3.1 lol where as sony was just publishing video games on the mega drive/snes on the other hand you blind dimwhitted fanboys have completly forgotten about onlive (nothing to do with microsoft) and just to obsessed with the underpowered ps3 that current pc hardware makes its tech look primative even the apple mac is catching up as for the best console id have to say the atari 2600.
just cause the ps3 is doing so well in japan (4 million ahead of the 360) and europe (less than a million) the real question shouldnt be whats the best console but whats the most inovative console, the best is only down to personal preference and choice.
where was nintendo 20 years ago lol doing what there still doing right now and pi.ss.in.g all over the ps3 and all its power. if you realy want to win a fight with a stupid argument over a games console trying to win with graphics or development your dumb as fu.ck as the pc will always win as its the only format thats always upto date with the latest graphics and sounds not only that but blu-ray in a few years will be redundant as a games format as scientists in scotland found a new way of compressing data meaning you could fit huge amounts of data on dvd roms/hdd's

The tech to make better games more accesible to dev teams is out now. The UC2 dev team has given their methods out to other dev teams so we will see more and more games that run as beautifully and as smoothly as UC2, from lesser companies. Ps3 is getting better and the 360 is the same, if not worse.

post 788 any new ps2 game out recently, still bashing the 360 for slowing down game development not willing to blame nintendo apple or SONY lol now forget the disk size argument and go back to playing your games also post 787 if we realy need to GET A LIFE why are you even bothering to actually post here if your so much better.
fact is its time for sony to move aside and let somone else take the crown for best console (lol where was sony 20 years ago)
