An inside source hints towards PS3 price cut, PS3 Slim, 360 Price Cut and Pro disappears...
Citing a reliable inside source, who has traditionally been on the ball when it comes to such rumours, Ars Technica has reported details on the price cuts planned for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 later in the year.
Suggesting that stocks of the 80GB PS3 are running low, Ars Technica's source claims that the 160GB will become increasingly evident in the next few weeks. Dependant on the sell-through rate, Ars Technica alleges that this will lead to Sony's next step, launching the PS3 Slim and introducing a price drop during the autumn.
Moving onto the Xbox 360, the article suggests that the Pro model will be phased out in July or August. As a result the Elite will become the de-facto high-end system following a further price cut in September.
No specific details on how big the price cuts will be or the 1TB HDD that Microsoft is rumoured to be planning.

but people have come to accept the rrod its been happening for years now unlike the yellow light of death thats not because of unreliable parts but due to a firmware update, is this an indication that sony had tried to overclock the ps3 and may have had a stable overclock but releasing a firmware update with the overclock included may have caused the trapped gas in the circuit boards.

Actually we can still complain about the RROD because the xbox has a 54 percent failure rate compared to the PS3's 14.7

It's really a low failure rate when compared to Xbox's 45% failure rate in the earlier generations of systems.
A .5% deficiant rate is quite low and seems an acceptable rate for any product. It seems that if Sony can compensate these very few failures with replacement systems ect. then this would be a very small problem.
