Sony announces a March 28th release and 399 Euro RRP for the 40GB PlayStation 3 and GT5 Prologue bundle...
Sony has announced a PlayStation 3 bundle that will include a 40GB system, one SIXAXIS controller and a copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. The bundle will retail at 399 Euros (just over £300) and is due for release on March 28th, effectively nailing down the standalone release date of GT5 Prologue.
SCEE confirmed the bundle to Next-Gen, while French site Game-Class had previously reported on the offer and an additional 'Movie Pack' bundle that was destined for the French market only (to start with at least).
This 'Movie Pack' will contain an three Blu-ray movies: Casino Royale, Spider-Man 3 and 300. It will also be released on March 28th at 399 Euros and could move to Italy and Spain at a later date.

but people have come to accept the rrod its been happening for years now unlike the yellow light of death thats not because of unreliable parts but due to a firmware update, is this an indication that sony had tried to overclock the ps3 and may have had a stable overclock but releasing a firmware update with the overclock included may have caused the trapped gas in the circuit boards.

Actually we can still complain about the RROD because the xbox has a 54 percent failure rate compared to the PS3's 14.7

It's really a low failure rate when compared to Xbox's 45% failure rate in the earlier generations of systems.
A .5% deficiant rate is quite low and seems an acceptable rate for any product. It seems that if Sony can compensate these very few failures with replacement systems ect. then this would be a very small problem.
