EA: PS3 To Outsell Xbox 360 In '08 News
According to EA estimates, Sony's PS3 could outsell the Xbox 360 by 3.5 million units in 2008...

Nestled away in EA's supplemental data for fiscal Q3 '08 are some intriguing estimates for console sales during 2008. According to these figures (for Europe and North America), Sony's PlayStation 3 could sell as many as 11.5 million units, with Microsoft's Xbox 360 trailing at only 8 million unit sales.
The estimates for the North American market (based on NPD and TRSTS data), predict a fairly even spread of sales with both consoles pulling in a top-end estimate of 5.5 million sales. EA's European estimates, on the other hand, predict that the PS3 will outsell the Xbox 360 by 3.5 million units (PS3 - 6 million, Xbox 360 - 2.5 million).
The EA figures provide both high and low-end estimates for 2008. In the worst case for Microsoft and the best case for Sony, the PS3 could come close to doubling Xbox 360 unit sales during 2008 (Xbox 360 - 6 million, PS3 - 11.5 million).
Following a meteoric year for Wii sales, it's hardly surprising that EA see this trend continuing in 2008. According to the figures, EA believe that Nintendo's Wii could top Xbox 360 and PS3 sales with 14 million units across Europe and North America during 2008.
In North America, the best case scenario for Nintendo's Wii (6.5 million units) has the console more or less equalling last year's sales of 6.3 million systems. However, EA suggest that the most growth for Nintendo will come from the European market, where sales could jump from 4.8 million (in 2007) to as much as 7.5 million in 2008.

but people have come to accept the rrod its been happening for years now unlike the yellow light of death thats not because of unreliable parts but due to a firmware update, is this an indication that sony had tried to overclock the ps3 and may have had a stable overclock but releasing a firmware update with the overclock included may have caused the trapped gas in the circuit boards.

Actually we can still complain about the RROD because the xbox has a 54 percent failure rate compared to the PS3's 14.7
OFF Topic: MAG will be pwnage

good point, but who's to say the complaints wont keep coming in? could easily be a majour fault in the system.
but i aint gettin called a fanboy again so ill stick with ur comment =) lets just hope sony can address the problem like microsoft did with the enw motherboards they were using

It's really a low failure rate when compared to Xbox's 45% failure rate in the earlier generations of systems.
A .5% deficiant rate is quite low and seems an acceptable rate for any product. It seems that if Sony can compensate these very few failures with replacement systems ect. then this would be a very small problem.
