Capcom's post-financials Q&A unleashes a poor evaluation of Sony's consoles...
In a belated translation of Capcom's Q&A following the company's latest financials, the Japanese publisher labelled PlayStation3 sales as "sluggish" and in a double-pronged attack claimed the "PSP hasn't achieved the numbers expected."
Perhaps a reminder of why the Japanese publisher has adopted a multi-format development policy regarding titles such as Resident Evil and Devil May Cry, it's worth noting that Capcom have created one of the most successful titles to appear on the PSP in the shape of the Monster Hunter series.

@ two posts down:
If you have a collection of "old favorites," shouldn't you also have a PS2? What, did you buy all the games as they came out thinking "I'll wait until next generation to play these."

its easier to buy a pc, google "emulator *console*" and then insert your disks and play.
a great pc these days owns a console by far..

don't want backwards compatibility? yes we do, its YOU who don't want it because it means WE have to either re-buy our old favourites or buy a ps2.

Wii and x box outselling PS3? that may have been true last year but it isn't any more. 250 quid for a PS3 is bloody good value, some Blu Ray players are more than that. PS3 is superior in pretty much everyway, xbox need blu ray to compete and i can't see that happening, there just isn't enough room on a dvd to keep up with Playstation.
And activision dropping sony completely? Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

and take this from me, i own neither console but i am an electrical and electronic engineering graduate.
MICROSOFT WILL NOT RELEASE ANOTHER CONSOLE for a long time and guess why. Because they at this moment actually cannot produce a console significantly better than the playstation 3, the ps3 is technologically that much better.
Hence project Natal, if you cant beat sony at their own game, change the game.

The only mistake Sony made with Playstation 3 is underestimating how stupid the consumer is. If you are an xbox 360 fan, well done you are ruining the immediate future of video-gaming.
The reason cross platform games perform equally on both consoles is that it doesnt make financial sense for developers to produce vastly different versions of the same games for each console so they stick to the lowest common demoninator. In this case the 360. In other words, the xbox 360, and its continued success is decreasing the quality of videogames.
The fact of the matter is the xbox 360 is just a load of outdated PC componants, nothing new. Many fans of the origional xbox claimed that the ps2 was holding back cross platform games. But guess what its 10 times worse this generation. The origional xbox was essentially only slightly better than the ps2, with slightly newer more powerful versions of very similar parts. However this generation Sony's Cell proccesser and blu-ray technology makes the ps3 many times more powerful than a xbox360. The main advantage of the blu-ray being increased game size rather than HD movies. All the wastemen saying they dont need blu-ray are ignoring the fact that games are getting better they are getting bigger, a lot bigger.

I agree - 2009 was the year that PS3 caught up, and 2010 will undoubtedly be the year that it starts to show itself.
The only thing that Microsoft can counter with is Project Natal - and that's going to have to be a game changer.
Oh and let's not forget Alan Wake... ;-)

MMmmm again interesting points but i am not a fanboy just a realist. PS3 on spec is a better machine! That can not be desputed!! Whats a real shame is that ps3 has all the extra power and disc space but when games are realised cross platform ps3 gets a dumb down version due to the above points. Developers are starting to see the real potentual of the machine and more are moving towards ps3.
You should check out Heavy Rain, GT5 previews i just don't see xbox keeping up.
As i said xbox is a good machine but its slipping in the market as a result of its failure to stay tech safe for the future.

Post 769 - You do realise Bluetooth has been around for yonks, it's not really new tech and does exactly the same job as the 360 does for wireless controllers.

well considerin the motion thing isnt really new and the xbox is gettin project natal next year, i think the xbox is doing just fine everyone has different tastes, some like big massive tech, and some like just a tyopical gaming console
personally i dont see the problem with either console and u sayin ps3 is better just makes u a fanboy
