Factor 5 and Dolby add new sound technology to future GameCube development kits.
Factor 5 – the developer behind Rogue Squadron – and Dolby have announced plans to incorporate Dolby Pro Logic II support in all future GameCube development kits, via Factor 5’ MusyX development tool. <br /> <br /> Pro Logic II is the new technology that derives full Dolby 5.1 channel surround sound from a pair of normal stereo speakers. Thanks to Factor 5, the low demand that the feature places on the processor should mean there’s no reason for developers not to include Pro Logic II support in future releases. <br /> <br /> “As the developer of Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II, the first game ever to feature Dolby Pro Logic II, we found that Dolby Pro Logic II was easy to use and was seamlessly incorporated—it’s an extremely clean solution for games,” said Julian Eggebrecht, president of Factor 5. “Dolby Pro Logic II is the surround sound technology we have been waiting for.” <br />

This is their peak because of MGS4, Halo 3 did the same thing but in much larger numbers. 360 has a sick holiday lineup and they will cut the price by a hundred bucks. Then theres the new Xbox Live with Netflix and possibly a FREE Xbox Live by then. Resistance isn't enough to stop it.
