Everything must go as Sony reduce the price of PS2, PSOne and peripherals...
Sony announced plans to reduce the cost of the PS2, PSOne and peripherals in the US late on Monday night. The move comes after heavy rumours suggesting that Microsoft are set to reduce the Xbox to $199, fuelling a bitter price war. <br /> <br /> The PS2 has been reduced from $299 to $199, whilst the PSOne has been slashed from its current $99 to $49. Additional peripherals have also come down in price; the PS2 memory card and DualShock2 controller will now cost $24, the PSOne LCD Screen came down from $199 to $149, whilst DualShock controllers will now retail for $19. <br /> <br /> This move puts the PS2 at a same price point as Nintendo’s GameCube, the Xbox is currently priced at $299, although a reduction is expected at E3. <br />

This is their peak because of MGS4, Halo 3 did the same thing but in much larger numbers. 360 has a sick holiday lineup and they will cut the price by a hundred bucks. Then theres the new Xbox Live with Netflix and possibly a FREE Xbox Live by then. Resistance isn't enough to stop it.
