Sony announce a quite literally staggering amount of PS2 have been sold...
Sony today announced that it has shipped 30 million PS2’s worldwide. According to figures released this figure breaks down into, North America with 11.3 million units, Asia with 9.9 million and Europe with 8.8 million. <br /> <br /> It is indeed an impressive figure and sends out a chilling warning to both Nintendo and Microsoft, both playing catch-up with the GameCube and Xbox respectively. Don’t expect Sony to sit on their laurels, E3 should see some interesting announcements for the PS2 regarding Broadband and other hardware peripherals. <br />

This is their peak because of MGS4, Halo 3 did the same thing but in much larger numbers. 360 has a sick holiday lineup and they will cut the price by a hundred bucks. Then theres the new Xbox Live with Netflix and possibly a FREE Xbox Live by then. Resistance isn't enough to stop it.
