Want to find what titles you’ll be taking your Playstation2 online for later in the year?

At an American Press Event SCEA has released a list of the first online games that will be available for the Playstation2. Whilst not a launch list, it shows the support expected for taking the PS2 online when the broadband adaptor is released later in the year.

NFL GameDay 2003 - August 13, 2002

NFL 2K3 - August 13, 2002

Madden NFL 2003 - August 13, 2002

SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs - August 27, 2002

Twisted Metal: Black Online - August 27, 2002

ATV Offroad Fury 2 - November 12, 2002

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 - Fall 2002

NBA Live 2003 - Fall 2002

Tribes Aerial Assault - Fall 2002

Auto Modellista - Fall 2002/Winter 2003

My Street - Fall 2002/Winter 2003

Frequency 2 - Spring 2003

We were quite surprised by the lack of quality and sparseness of this list; it appears that only five titles will be available alongside or near to the launch of the machine. Whilst with the exception of SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals and Auto Modellista, none of the titles really inspire us to go out and get the network adaptor.

Of course this is probably due to our European tastes, Americans are probably more then pleased with the likes of Madden NFL 2003, Twisted Metal: Black Online and NBA Live 2003. Let us know, what do you think, are this the games you want to be playing online??? Comments + Opinions to the usual address.
This is their peak because of MGS4, Halo 3 did the same thing but in much larger numbers. 360 has a sick holiday lineup and they will cut the price by a hundred bucks. Then theres the new Xbox Live with Netflix and possibly a FREE Xbox Live by then. Resistance isn't enough to stop it.
