New technology means PS2 price reduction likely, expect others to follow in what’s set to be a hot price war.
Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) President Ken Kutaragi, recently announced that they have developed technology to incorporate the PS2’ Emotion Engine and Graphic Synthesizer on to a single 0.13 micron chip. If the company move with the technology it’s believed that a PS2 price reduction will occur, something that both Microsoft and Nintendo will be watching keenly. <br /> <br /> It’s widely known that Microsoft are considering an Xbox price reduction after less then successful launches in Europe and Japan, if the PS2 were to be cut expect an immediate Xbox drop and a close look from Nintendo in order to keep the GameCube as the cheapest next-gen hardware. <br />

This is their peak because of MGS4, Halo 3 did the same thing but in much larger numbers. 360 has a sick holiday lineup and they will cut the price by a hundred bucks. Then theres the new Xbox Live with Netflix and possibly a FREE Xbox Live by then. Resistance isn't enough to stop it.
