The machine isn’t even out in Europe, yet that hasn’t stopped Nintendo reducing the price…
Nintendo today announced that the GameCube will launch across Europe on May 3rd for 199 euros, and is expected to retail in the UK for £129.99 <br /> <br /> Originally the machine was set to release in Europe for 249 euros, which was excepted to make the retail price in the UK around £175. The move comes after last weeks Xbox price cut from £299 to £199, and should ensure a fierce and competitive war when the GameCube is released. <br /> <br /> “Europe is a very important market for Nintendo and we are committed to making it a success. On May 3rd we will launch the only dedicated games console, the NINTENDO GAMECUBE, with an excellent software line-up, both for launch and throughout 2002, at a very competitive price. This is a very strong offer for consumers and one that we believe will ensure Nintendo’s success across Europe,” said David Gosen, Managing Director, Nintendo Europe. <br />

This is their peak because of MGS4, Halo 3 did the same thing but in much larger numbers. 360 has a sick holiday lineup and they will cut the price by a hundred bucks. Then theres the new Xbox Live with Netflix and possibly a FREE Xbox Live by then. Resistance isn't enough to stop it.
