New Pirates of the Caribbean Action/RPG Announced News

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest was pretty poor even by movie tie-in standards, however it seems Disney Interactive Studios is willing to give the franchise another stab with confirmation of Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned for "next-generation" consoles and PC.

Currently in development at Propaganda Games, Armada of the Damned promises something a little more substantial in the shape of an action-RPG.  Set before the events of the Hollywood trilogy, players take on the role of a pirate as he embarks on adventures across the land and sea.  Suggesting that the game will employ a Fable-esque moral dynamic, players will need to make choices that affect their character and the outcome of the story in a sandbox gameworld.

"Armada of the Damned is a dynamic action role-playing game that captures all of the franchise's excitement, unpredictability and action while delving into narrative elements never before explored within this unique universe," said Dan Tudge, vice president and general manager, Propaganda Games. "Our team's collective experience with industry-leading RPGs and action titles provides a strong foundation for us to create and build a compelling action role-playing title."
