SEGA confirms an open beta-test appearing on Xbox Live and releases details on the subscription service...
In the latest of a series of joint announcements, SEGA of America and SEGA of Europe today confirmed plans for a Phantasy Star Universe open beta-test available shortly on Xbox Live Marketplace. Taking place on October 11th and 12th, the free-trial runs for a week and should ensure a popular return for SEGA's flagship RPG series on the next-generation.
Following the Phantasy Star Online series, SEGA has also confirmed pricing plans for the title with a subscription service required for online play.
The "Hunters License" retails for $9.99 per month for the Xbox 360, Playstation2 and PC, with a discounted six-month package available to PS2 and PC owners for $49.99. Providing character creation, My Room, interactive lobbies, shops and new missions, the license promises to "enrich the single-player story mode by enabling gamers to meet other players, strike up alliances, and embark on a huge variety of online quests within the Phantasy Star Universe environment." - though weâ??ll have to wait and see how many 360 owners are happy to fork out extra on top of the Xbox Live subscription fee!

phantasy star universe is the poor mans version of fable phantasy star universe is boaring all you do is walk around and chose when to fight unlike fable you walk around and a bandiet or guard will attack you for not reason and you dont have to wait unlike phantasy star unioverse where you must go through long loading screans to get to the fight
