More on this gameSonic Teams classic makes a reappearance on the GBA, with a Cube version possibly in the works.
Sega fans your dreams have come true, Nights is coming to the GameBoy Advance with a possible GameCube version in the works.

The original Saturn version was widely regarded as one of the finest videogames ever created, yet unfortunately bombed due to the lack of interest in the machine. This move will hopefully introduce the delights of the game to a wider audience.

We managed to have a quick play of the GBA version in a score attack mode. This mode saw players racing through each level trying to collect a certain number of ideyas and pass through a certain amount of loops in a time limit. The games semi 3D visuals have translated well to the GBA, whilst the stunning animation remains intact, though unfortunately we were unable to pull of any of the special manoeuvres that looked so wonderful in the original. Playing on the stiff D-Pad also causes some troubles as the game relies on the fluid movement, which is why the Nights pad was developed specifically for the Saturn original, although it eventually wears on you.

More interesting was the presence of a sleep mode and the fact that the game supports Nintendo’s N Port, a way of storing a GameCube title to the GBA’s ROM allowing you to play on the go in a similar way to Animal Crossing. We’re hoping this means a GameCube version is in the works, it certainly should mean a GameCube version is in the works.

Unfortunately we could only grab some fuzzy screens of the game in action, however be excited, if you missed it the first time around you’re in for a real treat.
