Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie Review
More on this gameUbisoft reveal details of the videogame adaptation of Peter Jackson's King Kong
In preparation for its winter 2005 release, Ubisoft has today unveiled some of the features of its adaptation of King Kong, the forthcoming movie from Lord of the Rings director, Peter Jackson. The game is set to take in key events from the movie with gamers playing as both Jack Driscoll and King Kong himself, with Driscollâs sequences take place from a first-person perspective and Kongâs from third person.
Ubisoft Montpelier, the developers of the game, have been working closely with Jacksonâs special effects company WETA, so that various assets from the movie are replicated in the videogame. The game will also include areas on Skull Island that will not be seen in the film with WETA also behind the designs of some creatures that are exclusive to the game.
The developers are also quick to point out that the players will have to co-operate with the rest of their expeditionary team in order to survive. Each of the members have their own skills and abilities that are vital if the gamer is to succeed. The game includes a resource management system that will allow for seamless action and easy access to weapons and other assets.
Featuring the voice talents and likenesses of the filmâs cast, Peter Jacksonâs King Kong is set to immerse gamers into the world of Kong â“ weâll have more on it shortly...

Yeah, although I bought it and played it, I'm gonna have to go with the movie. This game has to much excess monsters and places to have to go before you can get your damn sugar off that island where t-rex's and fat velociraptors chase you and a giant ape is somewhere in the jungle humping Ann!
