Digital Extremes announce details on the editor featured within Pariah, confirming that Xbox owners will also share in the ‘modding’ luxury…

Hip Interactive Europe and Digital Extremes today released new details on the multiplayer features planned for the forthcoming Xbox and PC title, Pariah.

Topping the list of features is the Pariah MAP (Make and Play) Editor, allowing players to easily make their own multiplayer maps and share them with friends.

Naturally Digital Extremes know the importance of such an aspect after the success of the Unreal series; however what comes as a surprise is to discover that the team plan to allow Xbox owners the same privilege.

Yes you read that correctly, modding is no longer the sole domain of PC owners, as Xbox gamers will be able to create their own levels and share them via System-Link, Memory Cards or Xbox Live!

Digital Extremes claim that the Pariah MAP Editor has been designed with simplicity in mind, yet containing a powerful system underneath. The Editor will provide gamers with a great degree of flexibility, whilst allowing for â??ease of useâ? and a low learning curve to ensure that anyone can make their own Pariah map.

The full feature for the Pariah MAP Editor is still being finalised, however some of the primary functions that gamers can expect are:

  • Terrain Manipulation
  • Texture Changes
  • Object Placement
  • Lighting
  • Environment Settings
  • Player Start Points

â??While the game is centralized around an intricate storyline and an immersive single-player experience, it would be against our nature not to include a robust multiplayer component in the game,â? said James Schmalz, founder and creative director of Digital Extremes. â??Our goal with Pariah is to deliver the full gaming package: inventive, immersive and above all, fun.â?

Weâ??ll have more on Pariah soon.
