Sony details a recommended retail price of £224.99 for its incoming PSP Go console...
Even though Sony announced price points of $250 and 250 euros for its PSP Go console at E3 earlier this year, it's taken until now for the manufacturer to announce an RRP of £224.99 for the UK market.
Similarly to the PS3 Slim's UK price tag of £249.99, this PSP Go pricing is hardly kind to the British market where the original PSP launched for £179 on September 1st 2005, which will be over four years prior to the PSP Go's scheduled release on October 1st of this year.
To perk up those of you with expensive PSP Go pre-orders, Sony has at least announced a range of downloadable 'Minis' games that users can purchase from PSN. At under 100MB in size, these games will be considerably cheaper than full retail releases and Sony has promised that 15 of them will be available via PSN when the PSP Go launches.
PSN's 'Minis' library should then reach 50 by the end of the year, at which time Sony's Video Store will also have gone live in Europe as Sony announced at GamesCom last night that the service, which launched in America last July, will finally be available in the territory this November.
It won't be the whole of Europe though, as only the UK, Germany, France, and Spain have been given the nod by SCEE at this point. Only films will be available from the on-demand service to start with (either to rent or buy, in HD or SD) and both PS3 and PSP users will be able to access the store.

not being funny, but even the saddest, most devout of fanboys isn't going to pay out all that money for a handheld that doesn't allow them to use their old games.

oh well good old sony fu.ck.s up its rrp on one console while making a good choice on another, the ps3's price is very good considering the fact that to get an xbox 360 elite and bluray player will cost over £300 compared to a ps3 which has one built in (for those that diddnt know) for £250.
i think sony are going to get a few sales from gadget freaks and a few curious people stupid enough to pay £225 for the psp go other wise like most people will still look for the psp 3000 or older handhelds and just buy bigger memory cards from play . com or try rival hand helds from nintendo like the ds and the dsi.

ps3 is okay price, but this is just stupid. Seriously, people will just be like "hmm, this or the new ps3 which is only £25 more" and it's obvious it'll be the ps3. Until Sony brings this down to £160ish, hardly anyone will buy. Even with the "free" gran turismo it probably won't be attractive. Normal PSP Gran Turismo = £150ish roughly.

Definitely, because there's not actually much more new technology in it other than a sliding screen and more hard drive space. Sony shouldn't be charging £45 more for this four years down the line.

Prolly yes, but still the price is just silly compared to PS3 slim, its just all sorts of wrong! lol
Considering how long the PSP has been out and the current climate (recession' n all) PSPgo! should be around 180 or there abouts.
