Sony confirms that gamers won't be able to convert their UMDs to digital downloads with the PSPgo at launch...
Although Sony previously said that it was looking into the feasibility of a service that would allow PSPgo adopters to convert their UMD discs into digital files for use with the UMD-less handheld, the company has now confirmed that it will not be supporting such an initiative for the time being.
"We were evaluating a UMD conversion program, but due to legal and technical reasons we will not be offering the program at this time," a SCEA spokesperson told Kotaku. Put another way, don't hold your breath.
Sony announced yesterday that European users will at least be able to download three full PSP games without charge for the PSPgo via the PSN Store, as long as they can prove that they own an old PSP model and have a UMD game for it. Here's how the process works:
- Unwrap your shiny new PSPgo and start it up.
- Connect to PlayStation(r)Network and activate your new or existing PlayStation Network account for PSPgo Rewards.
- Start up your current PSP and connect to PlayStation Network.
- Login using the same PlayStation Network account , and launch PlayStation(r)Store.
- Pop one of your UMDs into the drive of your current PSP and register on PSPgo Rewards when prompted.
- Download a PSPgo theme.
- Wait for your email voucher for your three free games.
- Choose, download and enjoy!
The games available via the service aren't exactly new releases though, as only one title on the list was released this year (Resistance: Retribution) and there's even a couple of launch titles from 2005 among the group of 17 games (Everybody's Golf and Wipeout Pure):

- Wipeout Pure
- Buzz Brain Bender
- Buzz Master Quiz
- SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo
- Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
- Everybody's Golf

- Lemmings
- LocoRoco
- Patapon
- Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow
- Echochrome
- Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice
- Daxter

oh well good old sony fu.ck.s up its rrp on one console while making a good choice on another, the ps3's price is very good considering the fact that to get an xbox 360 elite and bluray player will cost over £300 compared to a ps3 which has one built in (for those that diddnt know) for £250.
i think sony are going to get a few sales from gadget freaks and a few curious people stupid enough to pay £225 for the psp go other wise like most people will still look for the psp 3000 or older handhelds and just buy bigger memory cards from play . com or try rival hand helds from nintendo like the ds and the dsi.

ps3 is okay price, but this is just stupid. Seriously, people will just be like "hmm, this or the new ps3 which is only £25 more" and it's obvious it'll be the ps3. Until Sony brings this down to £160ish, hardly anyone will buy. Even with the "free" gran turismo it probably won't be attractive. Normal PSP Gran Turismo = £150ish roughly.

Definitely, because there's not actually much more new technology in it other than a sliding screen and more hard drive space. Sony shouldn't be charging £45 more for this four years down the line.

Considering how long the PSP has been out and the current climate (recession' n all) PSPgo! should be around 180 or there abouts.
