Microsoft`s cross-platform controller to hits the stores in the same month as the European Xbox 360 launch...
Following an article in early September, Microsoft has today announced that the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows will go on sale with an RRP of £24.99 this December. The cross-platform peripheral marks the first time that an Xbox controller has been specifically designed for use across the two Microsoft supported platforms and will come with an ample nine-foot cable. Also, the wired controller that forms part of the Xbox 360 Core pack will also be compatible with the PC platform with gamers able to download the driver from two websites: windowsupdate.com and the Microsoft Hardware Web site at microsoft.com/hardware.
Making the announcement J Allard, Microsoft Corporate Vice President and Chief XNA Officer â??This controller is a great example of one of the many areas where the Xbox 360 and Windows platforms complement each otherâ?¦The Xbox 360 Controller for Windows is an important step in making it easier for consumers to enjoy gaming on both platforms.â?
â??For the first time, gamers can simply unplug their controller from their Xbox 360 system and plug it into their Windows XP-based PC,â? said Mike Haigh, Hardware Product Marketing Manager. â??This is a great breakthrough for the gaming industry as we make it easier for developers to create multiplatform titles.â?
Further support for the peripheral has come from Electronic Arts, THQ, Ubisoft and Vivendi Universal.
Weâ??ll have more on this shortlyâ?¦

Curious, is that a typo?
"As a publisher, no one is more excited to see the continued growth and evolution of Games for Windows - LIVE than Microsoft Game Studios,"
Should surley read as.

Actually Commodore is indeed a group of people with the name, but unlike previous restarts, this small group actually does pay tribute to the old c64 heritage they hold C64 parties and contests (demo's) and do work with the old enthausiasts. from what I've seen its a small group who really are going for it and i wish them luck

Hey anonymous that supposedly attended a trade show in the 80's: You haven't learned how to type, spell, or use better grammar in 20 years? And we're supposed to get something out of that garbage post? Plus, you DO realize that Commodore is, and has been for a long time now, a name. And that's all. The name has been passed around a little bit, but none of the same people run anything Commodore related. Any new Commodore we see will be in name only. Like Atari.
