Samsung and Microsoft unveil the UMPC at CeBit, but its gaming capabilities remain a grey area...
Confirmation that the Origami Project wasn't Microsoft's competition for Nintendo DS and PSP has been made with the unveiling of the Ultra Mobile Personal Computer at CeBit in Germany. A state of mass hysteria has been experienced on the web in recent weeks after the Origami Project website and a teaser video was interpreted by some as Microsoft's secret weapon in the handheld sector. This was laid to rest by TVG last week when we reported on the source code of the site stating the device was nothing more than a small tablet PC.
One question that does remain however is the UMPC's gaming capabilities. In the video, one user is shown playing Halo on the device, though a CD/DVD drive cannot be seen in images released. In fact the only game that has been confirmed for the system is the world's greatest newspaper game - Sudoku!
It's far from the idyllic and utopian models described by UMPC partner Intel, where users can download Sesame Street to keep their fidgeting kids amused in the car or find their way to a particular place with the system's GPS - in fact there continues to be a grey patch around the actual system specifications.
We'll have more news shortly...

Curious, is that a typo?
"As a publisher, no one is more excited to see the continued growth and evolution of Games for Windows - LIVE than Microsoft Game Studios,"
Should surley read as.

Actually Commodore is indeed a group of people with the name, but unlike previous restarts, this small group actually does pay tribute to the old c64 heritage they hold C64 parties and contests (demo's) and do work with the old enthausiasts. from what I've seen its a small group who really are going for it and i wish them luck

Hey anonymous that supposedly attended a trade show in the 80's: You haven't learned how to type, spell, or use better grammar in 20 years? And we're supposed to get something out of that garbage post? Plus, you DO realize that Commodore is, and has been for a long time now, a name. And that's all. The name has been passed around a little bit, but none of the same people run anything Commodore related. Any new Commodore we see will be in name only. Like Atari.
